A Nights to remember

This is a fantastic story of stories and how they can change people's perspectives. In South Campus's production of The Arabian Nights, you will be mystified simply by the stage. The set was beautiful, there were so many colors in the background that seemed to change when the lights on stage changed, making each story in a different setting. The lighting changed the mood of the story instantly as Scheherezade, played by Gabriella Oliveira, told her stories. The stories were told like they are in the book, the 1001 Nights, with each story leading into another. This play also showed the stories in the Arabian Nights that are not heard as often as Aladdin or Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves.
There were many characters in this play for each of the different stories. So there were a few cast members that played multiple roles. Daniel Bourque was really funny when he played the Butcher. He was very expressive. Adi Teodoru played the part of Sympathy the Learned and when she recited facts about everything she knew she spoke clearly and with determination.
