The formidable 6-2 freshman righthander was named the National Junior College Athletic Association pitcher of the week for the week of March 23-27.
During that week he authored a dominating one hit performance against the Wharton County Junior College Pioneers.
Collier struck out nine in only 6 innings of work improving his season record to 8-1 with an impressive 3.02 ERA.
North Campus athletic director Shawn Silman said of Collier's honor, "Any time one of our players recieves a national honor like that it is a testament not only to how hard all of our players work, but to how hard the entire coaching staff works in order to prepare our athletes so well they can enjoy that kind of success."
Collier leads a Gator pitching staff that has been dominant at times, their collective 3.35 ERA is the Region XIV South zones best.
Jacob Cowen has struck out 32 batters in only 21 innings of work posting a stellar 1.69 ERA.
Sean Nolin and David Rollins have been rock-steady in the starting rotation.
Chris Dickerson has been unhittable out of the pen posting a microscopic 0.73 ERA
With this pitching staff, the 25-8 Gators appear to be primed for another successful playoff run.
